The Edits

Bringing everything together and creating several new versions of the edit is the culmination of all the work.

The very first edit, simply a cut and shunt result. It was amazing to see the postvis in the edit, the sound really helped give the cg life. Shot length is a huge help to fool the eye.

Swapping out the roto anim render for my concept render, the shot is taking shape. The bash comp remained untouched, there are glimpses of photography and the quality of the composite helps make the shot feel real.

A much stronger set of renders from Unreal and an improved bash comp script. The Charger feels much more in tune with the original photography. The visualisation process is organic so there is always scope to change aspects quickly.

The final comparison between the original and the post vis. The possibilities for the motion are pretty much endless. A new fbx export and a couple of minutes in Unreal to check everything is work and hit render, update paths in Nuke and you have a brand new version.

I settled on this Directors cut final version, for now at least.

The final post vis cut into the film’s edit.
